It appears that FiOS has stopped blocking port 80. I discovered this last night when I accidentally pasted a URL for http://beta.freebsddiary.org/ into an IRC channel. That website used to be publicly available, until Dec 2007 when I moved to Philadelphia and started with FiOS. Sometime after that, things started work.
