pg_dump: aborting because of server version mismatch

Here’s something to be aware of. Update your PostgreSQL client on your Bacula client if it is used for backing up the Catalog.

Ngaios just told me:

FILE_AGE WARNING: /usr/backups/bacula/MyCatalog.dump is 45125 seconds old and 0 bytes

I looked at the backup job from earlier today:

28-Dec 08:15 bacula-dir JobId 195194: shell command: run BeforeJob "/usr/local/bacula/make_catalog_backup.new MyCatalog"
28-Dec 08:15 bacula-dir JobId 195194: BeforeJob: pg_dump: server version: 9.4.0; pg_dump version: 9.3.5
28-Dec 08:15 bacula-dir JobId 195194: BeforeJob: pg_dump: aborting because of server version mismatch
28-Dec 08:15 bacula-dir JobId 195194: Start Backup JobId 195194, Job=BackupCatalog.2014-12-28_08.15.00_34

There’s the problem, an old version of pg_dump.

Fixed by upgrading the PostgreSQL client.
