I’ve taken quite a liking to spamd and pf. I’m in the midst of documenting how to set it up on FreeBSD. I found one snag today: spamlogd was not updating the spamd table. It seems I’ve found the answer on the pf mailing list. Stay tuned.

Spam is so annoying. It takes up so much of my time. I don’t want spammers posting here. Neither do you. This morning I found 60 posts waiting to be moderated. I’ve had enough of this crap. I have better things to do with my time. Moderating spam is not on the short list. Today I searched for “you must enter a code” solutions. I found Bot Check. I found a reference to

I suspect spammers are paying people to post messages to my forums in The FreeBSD Diary. I started blocking them by IP address, but I quickly bored of that. Then I started required people to register before posting. That stopped them.
