Given my previous post regarding the number of ports, I’ve started to consider this LSI SAS 3081E-R from LSI. It has native FreeBSD support via the mpt(4) driver. I can get one for about $240 shipped.
I’d need a couple of cables too.
Based on this, I’m going to price out the system with that original Athena case.
