Nokia standardization is practical

Nokia has the right idea. Why make different rechargers for each phone? Why not have one recharger for every phone? That way, should I forget my recharger when I go to a conference, I can borrow a recharger from any other Nokia owner.

That is what happened this morning at NYCBSDCon.

My phone was dying and my recharger was at home. OUCH.

  1. No, Nokia has the *wrong* idea — proprietary connectors.

My BlackBerry and my Motorola phone both use mini-USB. I don’t need to carry around a proprietary charger, just a USB charger or a USB cable if I have a computer. *That* is “one recharger for every phone”.
