Yesterday was the last day of PGCon. The closing session started late and finished early. We didn’t run off an auction. We didn’t have much stuff. Day one started at about 5am for me. I was awake, without the alarm. Ready to go. I was out of the house by 5:50 am and into Cora’s by 6:10. On the way I deposited a cheque. Or rather, I tried to. It is now 10:02pm. I’m home. After my last post, I went down to the Yahoo! sponsored event. The place was packed. All the free drink tickets were gone. I was too late for that. I did get a ticket for the Wii raffle. I didn’t win. I had a beer. Talked with several people. Bought Tom Lane a drink and thanked him for all his help he’s given me over the years.
This morning I awoke at about 7am and left the house about 8am. A stop at Starbucks and I was down at the Tutorial location by 8:15. First major problem. Signage. A sign was left in the tutorial room over night and it was not there in the morning. I contacted the sponsor, found out the printer, and called them. It is now 9:43 PM. I’ve just arrived home after signing the contract for the PG Dev Summit tomorrow morning. The sponsor will reimburse me later. I spent 4:30-8:45 PM at the Royal Oak conversing with the various attendees. I paid the bills of two people who forgot to pay their bills. With this, the waitress gets a very large tip.
